The LiftMaster carport door opener is a secure method to access your garage when you don't have a remote control. You may give the access code to your family members who don't need to carry a remote control, especially for your children, to access garage doors.

1. Program Garage Door PIN Using Your Garage Door Opener

• Clear the carport door area of any obstacles
• Find the LEARN button on your carport door opener. You can see it above the antenna wire that hangs from the motorhead. The color of the LEARN button is either red/orange, purple, green, or yellow. You may need a ladder to access it.

• Press and release the LEARN button, and you will see the LED will light. You’ll need to press and release the button twice if your LiftMaster opener is equipped with a MyQ Control Panel. After that, wait for 30 seconds.

• Enter the 4-digit PIN you picked, then press and hold the ENTER button until you see the opener light blink to indicate that your setting is successful. Once your garage door Personal Identification Number (PIN) is already done, you can now change it or add a temporary PIN

2. Add a Temporary PIN –

To add a temporary PIN, you must set it first by putting how many hours the temporary PIN will work with a maximum of 255 hours. After that, you can set the number of times to open it with your temporary PIN. Here are the simple steps.

• Press your programmed PIN and press the asterisk button (*) until the garage door operator LED light blinks three times.
• Enter your 4-digit temporary PIN, and press the ENTER button.
• Now, press the number of hours you want that not exceed the 255-hour limit. Then press the asterisk button (*) again. When the garage door operator LED light blinks once, it will show that your temporary PIN is ready to use.

3. Changing Existing Personal Identification Number (PIN)

Here are the most manageable steps on how to change your existing PIN

• Clear the carport door area of any obstacles
• Press the existing PIN that you want to change.
• Now, press and hold the pound sign button (#) until the garage door operator LED light blinks twice.
• Enter the new 4-digit personal identification number (PIN) you chose, and press the ENTER button. Once again, the garage door operator LED light blink once. Your PIN programming is done.

To avoid unauthorized someone learn the code, make sure that you choose a personal identification number (PIN) that's easy for you and your family members to remember but not apparent for strangers. Avoid selecting a PIN that includes your postal code, Birthday, phone numbers, or plate numbers. If you ever suspected someone who unauthorized learned your code, please follow the steps above to change your PIN as soon as possible.
