Liftmaster remotes 1993 to 1997 uses the Green learn button and green light! Liftmaster only offers the 892LT or 894LT remotes. Cheaper and better: Stinger 81LM or the 2 button version Stinger 82LM. The keychain version is the Firefly 81LM and Firefly 82LM these are your best options.

Liftmaster remotes 1984 to 1992 use DIP switches, 8 or 9 three position dip switches will be on the overhead motor and inside the remote battery compartment. Limited choices but these work: 61LM single button remote. Good cheaper alternatives are the Stinger 61LM and the Firefly 61LM

PRIOR to 1984 there are no remotes made anymore. You absolutely can use the 365LM receiver combo kit to get around this problem, even though it is not supported by the manufacturer I assure you it works, look at the reviews on the 365lm garage door opener kit.
